EXCEPT for Randy Santiago, who I am close to, I never had the privilege, Ian F. , na makilala ng thoroughly, wika nga, the rest of the singers, who now compose the Men of the 80s.

We are referring, of course, to Raymond Lauchengco, Louie Heredia at Gino Padilla.

These four veteran singers, as we all know, will have a repeat of their successful tour, aptly called Men of the 80s, of course, at the Skydome SM North EDSA on November 21.

Just back from a successful tour of several key cities in the U. S. , they are performing in Europe next.

"Their performance at the Skydome," said Boss Vic del Rosario, who is producing the concert for his Viva Entertainment, "is by popular demand.

"Kahit kasi nagkaroon na sila ng performances sa Pilipinas, still marami pa rin ang gustong makapanood sa kanila.

"I, for one, never tire na pakinggan ang kanilang mga hits which made them the top heartthrobs ng two decades.

"Their songs have remained memorable to date. And are still being sung by the new at kabataang singers. "

Indeed, who can forget, for example, Raymond's rendition of the song Farewell, the graduation song featured in Bagets, which saw the rise to unprecedented stardom of actor Aga Muhlach.

"I was in Bagets, too," ani Raymond. "But after that movie, I never got the chance na makasama sa isang pelikulang muli si Aga.

"Kaya, I welcome the idea na I am playing Aga's elder brother in his new movie, Umboy and Bernas (tentative title).

"My God,"pahayag ni Raymond," he has developed so much into a complete performer, kaya, kung minsan, gusto ko lang panoorin siya perform his scenes. "

A theater actor, bukod sa mahusay na singer, Raymond was discovered for showbiz by Sharon Cuneta.

"Sharon was then a student at IS (International School), where my dad was vice president.

"She saw my photo in my dad's office. And that was that. "

Louie was enjoying life away from showbiz when Boss Vic proposed to him the Men of the 80s concert.

He loved the idea, he told Boss Vic. Pero ang problema, dahil wala nang ginagawa at nagkataon pang he is into cooking (his paella is one to die for, sabi nga ng mga nakatikim na nito), he has grown big.

"'Di lose them (referring to his excess weight)," sabi ni Boss Vic sa kanya.

Louie has had a string of hits, which include, among others, Nag-iisang Ikaw, Can Find No Reason, Iisang Damdamin and Kahit Kunwari Lang.

Louie has, to date, remained single.

Randy Santiago is an able tv host as he is a singer.

Active as a solo performer, Randy's hit songs are Babaero, Hindi Magbabago, Paikot-Ikot, Para Sa 'Yo and Yakap Yakap.

Gino's family is now based in the U. S. but his songs has remained familiar like Closer You and I, Gusto Kita, I Believe In You and Let The Love Begin.

And who can forget that, at one time, naka-duet niya ang international singer na si Tina Turner.

Matchmaker talaga si Kris Aquino.

Remember noong mina-match pa lamang niya sina Senator Mar Roxas at Korina Sanchez?

She and Korina, were, at that time, doing the show Kris at Korina.

On the air, talagang mina-match make niya sina Senator Mar at Korina.

At least, she proved successful.

Bale ba, even her mom, Annabelle Rama, seems to approve of her choice daw.

In any case, cruz, ay cross nga pala your fingers that you'll still prove successful, Kris.
