Column: Entertainment "Pieta," one of the most popular masterpieces of talented "Komiks" creator Carlo J. Caparas airs on ABS-CBN starting today. "Pieta" tells the story of a mothers unconditional love and sacrifice for her son. It follows the lives of Rigor (Ryan Agoncillo), who grew up without a father and his loving mother, Amanda (Cherie Gil). Ryan sheds his boy-next-door image as he breathes life to the challenging role of Rigor, who launched the late Ace Vergel as the industrys original "Bad Boy." Premiere contravida Cherie Gil, on the other hand, shows her versatility as an actress by essaying the role of selfless Amanda. According to creator and writer Carlo J. Caparas, both Ryan and Cherie are good choice for Pietas" lead roles. Respected character actor John Regala is perfect for the role of scheming Miguel, who is out to seek revenge at Amanda, while Jestoni Alarcon plays the pivotal role of Delvin. Sexy actress Krista Ranillo makes screens sizzle as Rigors lady love Martha. The series also stars some of the industrys most talented stars: Jason Abalos (who recently won his first Gawad Urian Best Actor award), Jairus Aquino, Janus del Prado, John James Uy, Lyka Ugarte, DJ Durano, Neil Sese, Nina Dolino, Ynez Veneracion with special participation of Alessandra de Rossi (young Amanda), Baron Geisler (young Miguel), Joross Gamboa (young Delfin), Andre Muhlach, Fred Payawan, Vice Ganda, Charles Christianson, Tanya Gomez, Evangeline Pascual and Paul Salas as the young Rigor.
