MINSAN pa ay magsasama-sama ang mga taga-showbiz para ipagdasal ang iba't ibang sakit na nararanasan ng showbiz ngayon.

The Profes­sional Artists Managers, Inc. (PAMI) is organizing a healing mass Tuesday, June 16, 7:00 pm, at the Father Estioko Hall, Christ The King Mission Semi­nary, 101, E. Rod- riguez Avenue, Quezon City.

The prominent hea­ling priests, Father Joey Faller and Father Glenn Gomez, have been invi­-ted by the PAMI to officiate at the ceremony.

“We are all aware of the current problems besetting the entire world. To name some: the econo­mic recession, the recent Air France crash, the North Korea nuclear threat and the Swine Flu epidemic, which has already affected some of our fellow Filipinos.

“Even our local enter­tainment industry is getting its share of trials: the sex video scandal, Ted Failon's family crisis, the current state of our mo­vie industry, rampant unemployment, the un­ending fight against film piracy and the sudden illnesses of our some of our pro­minent peers, like former Senator Ramon Revilla, Sr., and Johnny Delgado, ABS CBN producer Ellen Rodriguez and our former President Corazon Aquino.

“Let us not forget the recent deaths of beloved colleagues Francis Maga­lona, Tita Muñoz, and Paraluman.

“It is in this regard that we, the officers and members of PAMI, request all of our brothers and sisters in the local entertainment industry to attend this healing mass, so we can all together call on God to heal us both spiritually and physically, because we believe that with Him, in Him, nothing is impossible,” sabi ni June Torrejon-Rufino, President, PAMI.

Sa darating na halalan, lalong hihigpit ang laban para sa pinakamatataas na posisyon sa gobyerno. Mula sa mga kandidato hanggang sa mga election watchdog at botante, lahat ay armado ng mga pinakabagong gamit at paraan na hatid ng teknolohiya.

Bukas, silipin ang namumuong labanan kaugnay sa halalan sa cyberspace sa “Ako ang Simula: Sigaw ng Pagbabago” sa ABS-CBN Sunday's Best.

Sa mahigit 35 mil­yong Pilipino na may cellphone at mas marami pa sa sampung mil­yong gumagamit ng Internet, mala­king tulong nga ba ang alternative m­edia sa mga kam­panya ngayong eleksyon?

Ngayon pa lang ay marami nang mga kandidato sa pagka-presidente ang mayro­ong kanya-kanyang mga website o networking site. Marami na rin ang mga partido na nanga­ngampanya sa pamamagitan ng pagpapakalat ng text messages.

Hindi rin nagpapahuli ang mga election watchdog na manini­guradong malinis ang halalan. Mara­ming mga nagmamalasakit na grupo at mga botante ang nagha­handa na laban sa anumang pa­raan ng pan­daraya.

Hatid ng ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs ang “AKO ANG SI­MULA” na sisiyasatin ang mga maaa­ring epekto ng teknolohiya sa darating na halalan: hindi lamang sa panga­ngampanya kundi pati sa pagbabantay ng bawat boto ng mga Pili­pino.

Ang “Ako ang Simula: Sigaw ng Pagbabago” ay pa­ngungunahan nina Julius Babao, Atom Araullo, at T.J. Manotoc.
