Sarah not ready for Rayver

Author: Mario E. Bautista

STAR Cinema hosted a victory party for the success of "You Changed My Life. " As usual, lead star Sarah Geronimo was once again grilled about her lovelife. "Ewan ko kung bakit naman minamadali nyo ako about that," she says. "Kailangan ba talaga, may boyfriend? Naniniwala naman akong kusang darating 'yan at the right time. Hindi dapat madaliin. At sa totoo lang, di pa po ako ready to be in a relationship. "

How come it's rumored that she's now on an MU (mutual understanding) with Rayver Cruz? "Hindi totoo 'yun. We're closer now as friends after we did 'You Changed My Life' together, pero hanggang dun lang. Ni hindi siya nanliligaw sa'kin, so paano magiging kami?"

It's very obvious in the movie that they have wonderful chemistry together so some folks are surprised why it's said that Sarah will next be paired with Gerald Anderson, who's so identified with Kim Chiu now. Why not Rayver instead? "It's not for me to decide. Sumusunod lang ako sa gusto ng management. Pero nagpapasalamat talaga ako sa lahat ng nanood ng movie namin at nagsabing okay naman ang chemistry namin ni Rayver. Gusto ko silang bigyan ng power hug. Actually, older ako kay Rayver ng one year. Kasi 19 lang siya, 20 naman ako. "

What about Mark Bautista who's hoping they'll be closer to one another when they do a series of shows in the U. S. for more than one month? "Ang tingin ko po talaga sa kanya, parang brother lang. But then, hindi naman natin masasabi what may happen, di ba? Ayoko ring magsalita ng patapos. Basta as of now, I'm comfortable with him as my Kuya. I can feel malaki ang respect niya sa akin. "

EUGENE: 'DI AKO HOME-WRECKER

Eugene Domingo feels blessed. Her sitcom on TV 5, "Everybody Hapi," has ended after a season's run but here she is now doing another show, "Cool Center," for GMA-7 aside from the nightly soap "Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tad-yang" where she plays the trusted factotum in the household of Dingdong Dantes.

"At least, nawalan man ako ng isang show, may kapalit naman agad," she adds. "But I still have another show on TV 5, 'yung 'Ha-ha-ha Hayop' na magazine show naman every Monday night. "

It's obvious her career is doing well, but how about her lovelife? "Wala, zero. Hindi mo yata talaga basta mapagsasabay. Ang tagal ko na ring celibate. Sabi nga ni Long Mejia, ginagahasa ko na lang ang sarili ko," she laughs.

How did she feel when her co-host Anjo Yllana said he doesn't really know her? "Well, he's just being honest. Wala namang masama dun. Wala rin naman akong ilusyong kilala na ako ng lahat ng tao. Pero after talking to him during our pictorial, feeling ko, madali kaming magkakasundo dahil pareho kaming comedian. "

Someone asked: What kung magka-developan kayo ni Anjo while doing the show?

"Huwag naman. Kahit irresistible ako sa mga lalaki, may asawa't mga anak na si Anjo at hindi ko pinangarap na matawag na homewrecker, 'no?"

She's optimistic that "Cool Center," which starts airing tomorrow night after "Imbestigador," will click with viewers. "Interactive kasi ito, they can participate. It's going to be fun and we promise ni Anjo it's the perfect nightcap on Saturday nights. Masaya silang matutulog after the show. "

Eugene says her character, Madel, in "Babaeng Hinugot" will also have her own back story, just like Marian Rivera as Proserfina. "Maraming masosorpresa kapag nakilala na nila ang tunay na si Madel. "

Tonight in "Babaeng Hinugot," Dingdong as Homer succeeds in befriending Rado (Paolo Contis) who takes him along in his dealings with other syndicates. As for Proserfina, she sees a picture of her estranged mom Selena (Jackielou Blanco) who is with a child that is not her dead brother Achilles and she starts to doubt her mom's past.

NEW HITMAKERS

WHEN 'Payong', the Tagalog adaptation of Rihanna's catchy song "Umbrella" was first heard on radio, everyone was asking "Sino 'yan?" It became a hit and now, the singer who did it, simply known as Miss Ganda, signed up with Warner Music to do her own album of other Tagalized songs. Miss Ganda is Cielo Nunez in real life, the second of three kids of musical arranger Alvin Nunez. She's a vocalist of the Mannos band where her elder brother is the violinist. Born on July 25, 1985, she finished masscom at St. Paul QC and also worked as a ghost singer for the bossa nova collection of Warner.

"Recording 'Payong' was just an experiment," she says. "I was so surprised when people started requesting it on radio. "

Does she intend to follow in the footsteps of Rihanna? "Ayoko yatang mabugbog ni Chris Brown. Naawa ako sa kanya roon. Actually, sina Mariah Carey at Sitti ang favorites ko. "

Her album, "Hip Rap," has other potential hits: "Bb. Ganda" (Beautiful Girl), "Lampa" (Clumsy), "Lawlaw" (Low), "Sugat sa Puso" (Bleeding Love), "Wag Mong Pipigilan" (Please Don't Stop the Music. " Warner also released the debut album of David Idol, whose real name is Lambert Reyes Jr. He became popular when he did Tagalog versions of all the songs sung by David Cook in "American Idol," starting with "Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin" (Always Be My Baby).

Born on Nov. 2, 1984, he finished electronics and communications engineering in FEU and is now also teaching there. But his passion is music, even if he had no formal trai-ning. He's a member of the band Blue Cheese and wrote four songs for Christian Bautista. "Warner execs notice that kahawig daw ng boses ko ang kay David Cook so pina-record sa'kin ang songs niya na pumatok naman sa iba't ibang shows," he says.

David's voice is just perfect to make him a jukebox king and his songs are so "masa" we won't be surprised if they'd be popular in karaoke joints soon. You should hear his "Miss Kita," the Tagalized version of Aerosmith's "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing. " It's a real winner. He did all the translations in his album "Tagalized Hits": "Hello" (Lionel Richie's 'Hello'), "Ang Hinahanap Ko" (U2's ' I Still Haven't Found'), "Happy Together" (Turtl'es 'Happy Together'), "Billie Jean" (Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean'), "Elinor Rigby" (Beatles' 'Eleanor Rigby'), 'Gutom na Parang Lobo' (Duran Duran's 'Hungry Like a Wolf'. )

Miss Ganda and David Idol will do a bar and mall tour: Cowboy Grill Malate (March 13), Cowboy Grill Las Pinas (March 27), SM Baguio (March 20), SM Rosales (March 21), Padi's Avenida (April 3), Padi's Novaliches (April 17), and Mall of Asia (April 23. )
