Sex now officially on primetime TV

JUST A THOUGHT: A great man once said, Be a lotus, which means no matter how ugly, how evil and how sinful everyone around you might become, don't allow yourself to be stained. A lotus remains beautiful even as it lingers in the dirty waters of the pond.

SEX is now officially on primetime TV.

The trailer of 'Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang' teased the senses. When media guests previewed the first episode of Babae last week in one of the GMA studios, they confirmed what they had suspected all along.

The new nightly teleserye, starring Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, is loaded with sexy shower scenes.

Several times in the episode that was shown last night when the show premiered, the two lead stars engaged each other in open-mouth kissing scenes. Baring (and daring) is the name of the game in the TV version of Carlo J. Caparas' popular komiks novel in the late 70s.

Dingdong and Marian are undoubtedly two of the sexiest couples on TV today. They also are quite relaxed about flaunting this. 'Babaeng Hinugot' does one better than their earlier dramas, 'Marimar' and 'Dyesebel,' where showing sexuality is concerned.

Marian says she has no qualms about building a sexy image. She has done sexy calendars in 2008 and will do more in 2009. It will be exciting to see how her sexy scenes with Dingdong will fare in the eyes of moralists and the MTRCB when the series heats up some more.

The launch of 'Babaeng Hinugot' was attended by Carlo Caparas, his wife, Donna Villa, and their son, CJ. Carlo described the novel among his personal favorites, one he had always wanted to see as a teleserye.
