Column: Entertainment Shaina Magdayao, the sweet little girl we knew, will put Filipino television sets on fire as she breathes life to a superhero on "Komiks Presents: Mars Ravelo's Dragonna" on ABS-CBN.
From her sweet roles to mature portrayals, Filipino viewers watched her evolved.
Magdayao faces a new set of challenges as she topbills the latest Komiks series soon to air on ABS-CBN.
Paired with actor Jake Cuenca, Magdayao gives life to Olive, a tough girl, and somewhat boyish because she grew up with three firemen.
The firemen found Olive while pacifying a blaze and took the responsibility of taking care of her. Olive's character changes as the story progresses and falls in love.
Magdayao is now preparing not only to get into shape as a superhero but also in doing comedy, which is a big part of the story.
"Pinaka-worry ko is 'yung comedy. Sabi ko nga paiyakin n'yo na lang ako kasi para sa akin mas madaling umiyak. Pero nung sinabi sa akin na makakasama ko sina Kuya Bayani (Agbayani) at Kuya Long (Mejia) natuwa na ako," she said.
She said that with the two veteran comedians on her side, she would not have problems in comic scenes of the new Komiks series.
Magdayao said she and the rest of Dragonna's cast will do their best to bring more joy to Filipino TV viewers, especially the children.
Under the direction of Dondon Santos, Magdayao will be supported by a roster of talented cast members Alessandra de Rossi, Arnold Reyes, Eda Nolan, Long Mejia and Bayani Agbayani.
