| Silent rivalryAuthor: Bong De Leon THE cast of "Tayong Dalawa" joined the entertainment press in a thanksgiving party at 55 Events Place in Sct. Rallos a few nights ago. Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Jake Cuenca, Cherrie Pie Picache, Igot Isidro, Gina Pareño, Alessandra de Rossi, Coco Martin, Spanky Manikan, Helen Gamboa and Anita Linda, among others, were all there to share the success the show is reaping. Why "Tayong Dalawa" is lording it over in the ratings game is not hard to answer. First, the delicate roles are played by top caliber actors who perfectly suit the characters. Second, the story and script are so absorbing it is hard to miss an episode. Directors Trina Dayrit and Ruel Bayani make it a point to make the characters real. Obviously, ABS-CBN is putting so much budget in it as seen in its production value. How the show will end is something viewers are excited about. Even fans are affected that Kim is now married to Jake. Well, all we could do now is watch "Tayong Dalawa" nightly on ABS-CBN. Meanwhile, Gerald and Jake showed how truly a gentleman they were as they assisted the women, especially the older ones like Anita Linda, as they ascended the stage during the party. But how true is it that there is a silent rivalry between the two? SHOW STEALERS THE heavy downpour in Metro Manila wasn't felt much last Sunday inside the SMX (Mall of Asia) Convention center hall 2 where an invitational fashion show of three of the country's biggest retail brands participated. The show was star-studded as models from Bench, Human, and Kashieca brought the house down with a fabulous, jaw-dropping show. The stars who graced the runway were Bench hotties Piolo Pascual, Diether Ocampo, Jake Cuenca, John Prats, Zanjoe Marudo, Rafael Rossell, Jon Avila, Marco Alcaraz, Jay-R, Christian Bautista, Iya Villania, Luis Manzano and Karylle. Meanwhile, lively Tokyo fashion—think Harajuku girls—took center stage as Japanese animation came to life by way of graphic prints with toy elements on Human apparel. Uber fashionable and feminine brand Kashieca, on the other hand, proved once again that "luxury is in the details". Known for its overly sophisticated and glamorous design, Kashieca showed why it is the brand of choice of classically chic women. But the overall show-stealer was the underwear walk of the male models. ANIMALS WITH TALENTS EVER wondered how a limping donkey walks? How would you react if you see a weasel showing off talents in acting and basketball? And surely, we will be a fan to a dog who has so many hidden talents in sports. These animals also need sophisticated hospital attention. Well, there is a hospital with emergency room for animals. See them in Wow, Hayop! hosted by Wally Bayola and Jose Manalo on GMA7 tonight. THE SECRET OF LAUGHTER ON Friday nights, Bubble Gang maintains its high rating in spite of competition. Perhaps, it's because its plots are organic in nature, very true comic situations that happen everyday. The secret (well, maybe not too secret) of the show is in its hosts, Ogie Alcasid and Michael V, and the gang composed of Wendell Ramos, Antonio Aquitania, Boy2 Quizon and the sexy belles, Maureen Larrazabal, Rufa Mae Quinto, among others. And they have exciting guests every week. On Friday night, special guests include Sunshine Dizon, Dennis Trillo and Pauleen Luna. Source: People's Journal |
