Star Magic’s April showers

It is amazing that most of the talents at Star Magic that celebrated their birthdays last month are all in their pre- or pubescent years. They’re like occasional showers in the sizzling hot month of April.

Nico Ibaviosa is a model who turned to acting after he was launched as one of the members of Star Circle 16 . He will soon join the cast of Lipgloss as the misunderstood rich guy named Brent Borromeo on TV5. Nico is a sophomore in Industrial Engineering at the UP Diliman. He celebrated his 19th birthday last April 3.

Sharlene San Pedro is a familiar name on ABS-CBN with appearances in Anghel na Walang Langit, Callalily, Ysabella, Rounin, Lobo and Princess Sarah. She shows her comic talent in Goin Bulilit in the KKK segment as Korina Sanchez.

Sharlene is doing an indie film, Kamoteng Kahoy, with Maryo J. de los Reyes. She is an incoming fifth grader at His Sanctuary Christian Academy. She celebrated her 10th last April 5.

Kyle Balili is one of Star Magic bets in singing being one of the finalists in Little Big Star and former member of Mak and the Dudes. This pupil of University of the East Elementary School celebrated his 10th birthday last April 8.

Khayecee Aboloc is another Star Magic Kid who is very visible in shows on ABS-CBN. An incoming fifth at La Consolacion Manila, she celebrated her 10th birthday last April 9.

Dino Imperial’s mestizo looks was noticed by an agent when he was 12 years old. He was asked to do VTR and the rest, as the saying goes, is history.

When he was 16 years old, Dino was asked to audition for Star Magic 13. That became his ticket to more endorsements and shows on TV.

Dino is with his all-male group Gigger Boys regularly seen in ASAP 09. He is also busy as a VJ for Studio 23. He will be soon seen in Your Song Presents Boystown and George and Cecil. Dino is also back in school taking up Multimedia Arts at College of St. Benilde. He celebrated his 21st birthday last April 9.

Ryan Ramos started hosting three shows in UNTV 37 last year, which he never imagined doing all at the same time. Since he has been at Sports Update segment for Good Morning Kuya show daily, he plans to co-produce a sports show soon. Ryan celebrated his birthday last April 15.

Kristina Snell is a shy girl who started as a print ad model. As a little girl, she admired Maricel Soriano because she felt they have the same personality. This outspoken, lovable and friendly girl had the chance to be included in the Star Circle 16 batch of Star Magic. She was seen in ASAP 09 with her batchmates. Her being half British gives her advantage. Kristina celebrated her 17th birthday last April 14.

Showbiz runs in the blood of Paul Salas being the son of former Universal Motion dancer Jim Salas. He is best remembered as Uragon, one of the leaders of the children in Kung Fu Kids. He is a student at Starland International School. Paul had an out-of-town celebration of his 11th birthday last April 16.

Former PBB housemate Franzen Fajardo has been in the business for years now. Franzen will be in Precious Hearts in which he will be working with Toni Gonzaga and Derek Ramsay. Franzen celebrated his birthday last April 18.
