Sunshine lied about Victor?

Sunshine lied about Victor?

Author: Mario E. Bautista
Column: Freehand

Sunshine Dizon took the lie detector test in the "Don't Lie to Me" portion of "Showbiz Central" last Sunday and most of her answers were truths, except for the last which involves a past boyfriend that she denied. Here are the questions:

You play a lesbian so effectively on TV and the movies. Is this because you really have lesbian tendencies? She said no and it's the truth. You admitted having had liposuction on your arms and back. Are there any other cosmetic procedures you took that you didn't admit in public? She said no and again, it's true.

Matet de Leon denied she taught you how to drink and go to bars. But do you think she's been a bad influence to you? Her answer is no and it's the truth. During your "Anna Karenina" days, did you really have a short-lived romance with Dingdong Dantes? She said no and again, it's true. She added that Dingdong was then on with Antoinette Taus who's her good friend.

The last question was: Among your past boyfriends, is it true you got hurt the most by Victor Neri? She said no and this time, she lied. Sunshine denied they were ever on but it's common knowledge then that they were an item. She said she's in good terms with Victor, who's now working in Hong Kong. The last time she went to Hong Kong, he even arranged her hotel accommodations but she said she never saw him there. It's up to us if we'd believe her or not.

OGIE, REGINE SING TO EACH OTHER

Ogie Alcasid took the Hot Seat with Pia Guanio and Rufa Mae Quinto as Central Jurors, plus his good friend Michael V on the phone as guest juror. We don't know why the first question is whether it's true that Regine Velasquez sulked after Ogie forgot their fourth anniversary when it's so old hat. Regine herself revealed that two months ago and Ogie himself admitted in the "Desperadas 2" presscon that he has already been forgiven by Regine. He said he's guilty because he chose to work on that day but he made up for it by sending her a series of love letters.

Ogie says he just went to visit his daughters in Sydney for three days and Regine was not with him because she's busy rehearsing for her "Divas 4 Divas" concert last Friday. How did his kids react to his playing the role of a woman in "Desperadas 2"? "I showed them my pictures at tawa sila nang tawa. "

Ogie chose to do the Killer Task. In "Divas 4 Divas," Regine became emotional and cried as she dedicated the song "And I Love You So" to Ogie. The task is now for him to sing live his own song that will be his response to Regine's number, and he sang his own composition, "Kailangan Kita. "
Karylle, DINGDONG 'SNUB' EACH OTHER

SINCE this episode of "Showbiz Central" was aired right after the Pacquiao-De La Hoya fight, there was a phone patch interview with Karylle who sang the national anthem before the match, and with Pacman himself. Karylle said so many people approached her and congratulated her after her song. "Hindi lang mga Pinoy but also Mexicans and Americans and they had their pictures taken with me," she adds.

She said she was in Manny's hotel room just before the fight waiting for him to be called. Was he nervous? "No, he's very relaxed. Hindi raw siya tense kasi he knows kaya niya ang laban. " Did she get to see ex-BF Dingdong Dantes while she was there? "Di ko siya nakita pero parang nakasalubong ko siya kaya lang paakyat na ako noon sa stage so I'm not sure. "
MANNY COMES HOME, JINKEE STAYS BEHIND

AS for Manny Pacquiao, what's nice about him is his humility that he owes his winning to the Lord. "Utang ko ito sa Mahal na Panginoon," he says. How does he feel that his wife Jinkee, who's eight months pregnant, is not there to watch him in person this time? "It works in my favor kasi hindi ako nai-stress. "

How was De la Hoya after the fight? "Kahit tinalo ko siya, siya pa rin ang idol ko. I called him Idol but he said to me, 'No, now you're my idol!'"

Did he really win because De la Hoya was slow? "No, mabilis pa rin naman siya. Kaya lang, na-surprise siya sa kanan ko and the body punches I gave him. He was so focused kasi on my left hook. "

Will he be staying in the U. S. until Christmas? "No. I'm going home there on Wednesday. Pero si Jinkee, maiiwan muna siya rito at dito na siya manganganak. "

Who does he want to fight next? "It's up to my promoter. As for me, bakasyon muna ako. At saka birthday ko sa December 17, so enjoyin ko muna ang panalo ko. "

DENNIS HATES EXPOSURE FOR SON

"Showbiz Central" also had an interview with Dennis Trillo about the statement of his ex-GF Carlene Aguilar that she's scared Dennis might forget his responsibilities to their son Calyx in case he'd have a serious girlfriend again.

Dennis said Carlene has no reason to worry about as he has no plan of having a girlfriend now since he's so busy with work. He added that Carlene has no business meddling about his lovelife "kasi matagal nang tapos ang relasyon namin at may kanya-kanya na kaming buhay. "

He also resented it when Carlene had a pictorial with their son for a magazine. "Ayoko sanang masyadong i-expose ang anak namin sa media," he said. But he added he enjoys being with Calyx. "Nakakapawi ng pagod kapag binibisita ko siya pagkatapos ng trabaho. Magulo na, e. Tumatakbo na. "

PAOLO NOW A FATHER

CONGRATS to Paolo Ballesteros, now a certified dad. His Chicago-based girlfriend Maria Katrina Nevada has given birth to their love child on November 30, to be named Kiera Claire.

Paolo's masculinity has long been questioned by some writers who claim he's a closet gay as he looks so much like a girl when he cross-dresses in "Eat Bulaga. " He can now show his baby to all these doubting Thomases.
BOOTS TURNS OFF BEAT

BOOTS Anson Roa obviously had the time of her life playing the role of an uncouth "probinsiyana" mother who murders the English language in Ronnie Bertubin's new digifilm, "Lovebirds," previewed at the UP Film Institute last week. The movie is another gay flick but, although it has its share of male nudity and lovemaking, the story centers on the mother Amelia (Boots) who has a hard time accepting that her youngest son Mario (Joseph Ison) is gay.

Amelia's two older kids have gotten married and live in Manila. She's long been trying to find a match for Mario who's quite shy. She gets excited when she learns that Mario has found a girlfriend on the internet, Alexis, who lives in Spain. When Alexis announced that she'll be coming over to see Mario in person, Amelia prepares a feast for her, inviting all their neigHBOrs. What she doesn't knows that Alexis is actually a he, a hunky Spaniard (Andres Alexis Fernandez). Fernandez is really a Puerto Rican and a programmer in an international filmfest who met Bertubin when his previous film, "Sikil," was shown abroad.

The quick-thinking Amelia announces to their visitors that their foreign visitor is actually Alex, the brother of Alexis who got sick. But no one really believes her story, not even her husband Celing (Tommy Abuel), who's very tolerant of gay relationships as he claims he had experienced it with another Pinoy while he was an OFW in Saudi Arabia.

Amelia tells Mario he's just confused "dahil virgin ka pa at hindi ka pa nakakatikim ng kipay". Mario tells her he already did and he didn't like it. He really loves Alexis. Amelia insists they stay in separate rooms and they'll never make out inside her home. The movie, which can be the gay version of "Meet the Parents", can very well be retitled as "Not in my house!" as Amelia gets to deliver that line several times. It's also reminiscent of the hit play of the 80s "Norman, Is That You?"

The film will not win awards but the script of Romualdo Avellanosa does offer some good laughs even if some scenes drag. Boots Anson Roa certainly deserves an acting nomination for her rollicking offbeat portrayal of Amelia, whose heart eventually softens and learns to accept her son's true identity. "This is my own coming out of the closet movie," she tells us laughing during the preview.

She's ably supported by Tommy Abuel as her henpecked husband. Joseph Ison shines in that scene where he has an LQ (lovers quarrel) with Alexis and breaks down telling the Spaniard he really loves him. We don't know if this is Alexis' first movie or if he's a professional actor in his home country, but he does give an effortless portrayal of the macho, straight-acting gay who tries his best to understand the situation of Mario and his parents. Also giving good support as Adrian Ramirez as Mario's more openly gay best friend.

DAYS OF MOURNING

Pia Guanio reported in "Showbiz Central" that GMA-7's contract star, Marky Cielo, who appears in "La Lola," passed away at 3 a. m. Sunday. It's said that he was a victim of "bangungot. " Only 20 years old, Marky was the top winner in "Starstruck 3. " Our deepest sympathy to his family. Let's pray for the repose of his soul. May he rest in peace.

That same morning, our cousin Angela Maceda Alfon also passed away due to "bangungot. " She just came home from Los Angeles last Wednesday to attend the wake of her brother, Leonardo Maceda, who came home from Melbourne, Australia to retire here the other week.

Little did she know that she would be following Nards only after a week. Our condolences to the Maceda clan for whom 2008 is really tragic. It's book ended by the death of my mother-in-law (aunt of Angie and Nards), Lourdes Maceda Arcega, on January 1, and the collapse of my own wife Victoria on January 31, so their family had two deaths in January and two in December.

We're all praying that 2008 would soon go away as it's been too painful for all of us. Angie now lies at the Christ the King chapel in Green Meadows. Let's all pray for her and all the departed loved ones in our family.
