Symbol of strength

Column: A Little Bit

IT is nice to see Lorna Tolentino smiling again. She has moved on, she says, thanks to the support of her family and friends and her strong faith in the Lord. Yes, for many women who witnessed what the actress has gone through, Lorna has become a symbol of strength.

Still, the missing part is hard to forget. "You don't erase the memories of someone you lived, slept and shared with your innermost secrets for 27 years. The longing for Rudy's physical presence is still there but in spirit I know he is always beside me," Lorna confides during the presscon for the launching of H. O. P. E. Volume 2 album entitled "Wings of the Soul," produced by Pinky Tobiano, a cancer victim herself and line produced by Star Records with the help of Philip Cu-Unjieng.

HOPE album one is dedicated to cancer patients. "Wings of the Soul" is more on the persons taking care of the patients. It is all about acceptance, healing, surrendering and moving on. All these is Lorna T. She stands for those people who have had a loved one suffer from cancer.

The actress continues: "With optimism and faith in mind and heart, I hope that by helping others find healing and acceptance, I too would find my own. Trusting in the power of strength in unity, I truly wish this album becomes a source of strength and inspiration for those who have experienced loss or who may be struggling in the battle against life-threatening events. "

In conclusion, Lorna dedicates the album to her late husband Rudy "the one who at my young age promised to take care of me and marry me. And he did fulfill the promise, marriage that will last not only in this world but till the next lifetime. "

SPECIAL BONDING WITH LEADING LADIES
EVEN while nursing a slight fever, Alfred Vargas still reported to the taping of "All About Eve. " Director Gil Tejada advised him to go home and rest but Alfred refused saying, "Lalo lamang akong magkakasakit kung ihihiga ko ito. "

In the Pinoy adaptation of a Korean teleserye, he plays the role of a man in love with a woman who cares for somebody else. Such a part is no big challenge for Alfred who has done similar characterization in past teleseryes. It is, however, the opportunity to be reunited once more with "Impostora" leads Sunshine Dizon and Iza Calzado that Alfred looks forward to every single taping day.

With "All About Eve, " their special bonding is once more resumed.

RICHARD VS DINGDONG
AS expected "Zorro" garnered the highest rating when it started airing a few days ago. It confirms the bankability of Richard Gutierrez as an action hero.

"I am very fortunate to have been chosen to play one of the most well-loved adventure characters. Big fan ako ni Zorro at twice kong pinanood ang pelikula na ang bida ay si Antonio Banderas.

"I have always imagined how I would fare as Zorro pero hindi ko akalaing darating ang araw na bibigyan ko ito ng buhay. The hard part in playing the character is performing the action scenes which include fencing. Maganda ngang tingnan na naka-kapa ka pero sa totoo lang dagdag hirap ito sa aking paggalaw. "

From the looks of it, GMA7 must have spent a fortune turning "Zorro" into a Pinoy teleserye. It is like one gigantic and spectacular movie that everyone raves about.

One wonders how it fares in the ratings game with another GMA teleserye, "Ang Babaing Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang. "
