| Teen stars reinvent selves for new TV series Column: Entertainment Teen stars and love team Matt Evans and Melissa Ricks have decided to reinvent themselves for their upcoming television show on ABS-CBN entitled "Your Song." "They will now witness a different kind of Matt Evans and Melissa Ricks because after all, I'm already 18 and Matt is 19", Ricks explained. "We're excited about this project because the story line is unique. We're childhood sweethearts here who promised each other that we'll marry when we grow old. We were apart for a long time when my family migrated to the States. Naturally, we experienced a lot of changes when we saw each other again," Evans said. Evans and Ricks are a loveteam that people grew to love in the television series "Pedro Penduko" and "Princess Sarah". They are now out to prove that they are more mature, and old enough to take on more serious roles. Evans is sporting a new look, by a change in hair style and skin color. He is tan and his head now sports a semi-straight hairdo. Ricks on the other hand will be seen on the series wearing a two-piece bathing suit. She said the need for this scene made her think twice before accepting the project. Ricks admitted that she asked the permission of her parents and her managers before saying yes. The story's setting calls for such an outfit as it will be shot in a resort, right in time for summer. Aside from going on a diet to look good in their beach outfits, Ricks and Evans both went through a workshop under Director Rahyan Carlos to prepare for the new show. One thing their fans will surely watch out for is another first -- their kissing scene. Actress Sheryn Regis' song "Sayang Na Sayang" is featured in the four episodes of "Your Song" starting April 6, Sunday after ASAP '08 on ABS-CBN, under the direction of Manny Palo. Ricks and Evans are currently busy hosting ASAP '08 and participating in some acting workshops. They are also occupied by television guestings particularly in ABS-CBN, as well as out-of-town shows. Ricks and Evans started their career when they joined the 2006 Pinoy Big Brother Teenage Edition.
