They meet again

KC Concepcion and Richard Gutierrez are back together in the GMA Films Valentine offering When I Met You.

Their tandem is one of the most exciting and most-talked about love teams in the industry today after their hit flick For the First Time under Star Cinema last year.

“We have to at least equal, if not surpass, our previous tandem. That’s why we are working double time since this already has a Valentine playdate,” remarked Richard, who has established himself as the “King of Valentine Movies” in this generation.

His throng of supporters and those in the know have already marked Valentine’s Day as Richard Gutierrez movie day, so he is out to prove them right. Even if he has been paired with the country’s most exciting leading ladies, from Angel Locsin, to Marian Rivera and now KC, viewers never tire of seeing him play a Valentino-like role that melts hearts and elicits sighs.

“That is actually a difficult situation to get into. But we’re confident that given the right project like this one, parang filling in the blanks na lang ang susunod. Kasi nga siguro, we, Filipinos, are romantic people and naranasan naman nating lahat ang kiligin at magpakilig,” explained the good looking actor.

For this latest offering, Richard promises a feel-good movie that is very Pinoy.

Director Joel Lamangan is at helm, taking the cudgels from direk Joey Reyes, who was first tapped for the movie. Said the duo, “We expected to work with direk Joey, but we understood the reasons for his backing out. Direk Joel is an equally great director and with the way he is taking care of us, we could really say that the movie is his.”

Co-starring with Ruchard and KC are Alfred Vargas, Cherry Pie Picache and Tirso Cruz lll, among others.

The title of the movie is also the title of that famous APO song, “When I Met You,” a song loved by millions of music lovers and romantics everywhere.

The Buzz nowadays is that some famous people are on their toes regarding a certain drug trafficking issue involving three wealthy boys from Alabang.

We cannot understand why this got so much media attention just recently considering that the reported buy-bust operations of the alleged drug users cum pushers happened sometime in September 2008.

Now even Congress is at it again (their session is supposed to start on Jan. 19) doing the traditional gisa of those involved.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency has answered the tirades from all concerned, especially the parents of the so-called victims of an illegal arrest. But from a simple drug bust to alleged bribery and even influence peddling, this case continues to make headlines.

And who are these “celebrities” (read: Media, showbiz and policital figures) who are now taking extra precautions because their identities might get caught in the complicated web? Talk around town is that a big syndicate has been affected, and not only wealthy individuals are involved but also those that are influential and maybe even famous and idolized.

Shocker. What a way to welcome the new year!
