You see Mark Gil in Atlantika and his son Gabby Eigenmann is a fixture on the Sunday noontime variety SOP and every now and then plays a role in the networks primetime drama series. Cherie Gil is la primera contrafigura in the afternoon soap Now and Forever: Dangal.

AJ Eigenmann, Michael de Mesa and Gina Alajars son, is in Pinakamamahal, an afternoon soap weekdays on the Kapuso network. But his brother, Geoff Eigenmann, has chosen to be on the other side.

Recently, Geoff signed with ABS-CBN Star Magic family. And the move is considered by fellow Kapamilya as a homecoming of sorts. After all, as a little boy, Geoff was in the very popular Ang TV. He was only eight years old then.

Coming from a reputable family of actors, Geoffs decision to be like his parents didnt come as a surprise. In fact, it had been anticipated that hed follow in the footsteps of Michael de Mesa and Gina Alajar.

As a kid, more than a decade past, Geoff used to tag along his parents to tapings. His education in show business was already beginning then. His interest in what his parents did for a living soon became part of his consciousness as he began to be part of show business. Yet, his biggest break would be a starring rolenot in a television show or a motion picturein a television commercial for Globe.

Not a few noticed the good looks and the charming uneven lop-sided smile. In just a span of two weeks, people are talking about this guy up in the mountains who needed a load for his mobile phone.

What followed was a dizzying baptism into the realm of show business. He landed a role in ABS-CBNs Hiram with Anne Curtis, Dina Bonnevie and Kris Aquino. Not long after that soap had concluded, he is in Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin with Claudine Barretto, Diether Ocampo, Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz.

From television, he hopped onto the movie bandwagon with a starring role in two blockbuster moviesBecuz of U and the recent First Day Highboth from Star Cinema.

His potential as an actor has become obvious, yet Geoff doesnt want to be confined to just creating characters. He also wants to be known as Geoff Eigenmann. And so he is accepting a hosting stint in ASAP Fanatic with Luis Manzano and John Prats. He is also one of the VJs of Studio 23s MYX and regular hosts in ASAP 06 every Sunday.

Another big role is coming for this Eigenmann. He will play a prisoner named Cyrus in the forthcoming series Rounin.

Isnt there a movie titled Ronin with Robert De Niro? I wonder if theres any similarities? Nikki Gil (no relation to the Eigenmanns) is going to play Geoffs love interest in the series.

Like all Eigenmanns, he is passionate about his craft. His greatest dream as an actor is to be able to work with his parents in a TV series or movie.

Geoff was recently given a grand welcome in ASAP 06s Full Circle segment, which features the artists of Star Magic.

Takeshis Castle a hit

Takeshis Castle on QTV Channel 11 is fast becoming an evening primetime habit that is getting harder to break!

With new games, funnier gags, exciting segments and surprise local celebrities greeting the audience every day, from Monday to Friday at 8:30 p.m., its little wonder that a Takeshis Castle craze is starting to be felt!

With veteran comedian Joey de Leon hosting the comebacking program together with Ryan Yllana, one could only expect an explosion of laughs and rib-tickling comedy.

Joey de Leon plays the role of Shintaro Gokoyami, a shogun who is also the right hand man of Takeshi. Managing the castle with Shintaro Gokoyami is Takehome, a sumo wrestler who also happens to be the palaces chief of security played by Ryan Yllana.

Shintaro Gokoyami and Takehomes exciting tandem has been steadily gaining a following and has made Takeshis Castle a must-see program on QTV primetime!

Follow the adventures of the challengers in the thrilling lineup of games and obstacles that they are set to conquer in Takeshis Castle.

Watch them climb the Great Wall Made in China, attack the Alamo Challenge, do the Bitin sa Pabitin challenge, Check In, Check Out, Step No Step Yes, swing like Starzan sa Japan?, do the Hukay Hukay, and conquer the Water Meronultimate challenge for the contestants who have made it inside the castle walls!

Its a 30-minute laughing treat with Shintaro Gokoyami and Takehome, who will be joined by ninjas, shoguns and geishas for that extra comic treat.

Takeshis Castle airs nightly, 8:30 p.m. only on QTV Channel 11.

10th Street Band launch

A new and aggressive recording company is invading the music industry by launching a new and very talented group of musicians named 10th Street Band.

CPS-Flutos Music Corp. introduces itself in the industry by releasing the first CD album of 10th Street Band which offers a different brand of pop music in bossa alternative.

CPS (which stands for Camia, Protea and Sunflower)-Flutos is managed by a promising musician himself, young entrepreneur Patrick Calleja and owned by Nine Planets Apparel chief operating officer Ria Adriano.

We plan to go full blast next year by coming up with more bands and singers which we feel deserve a rightful place in the music industry. For a start, were launching our first talent, which is the 10th Street Band. This is indeed a very promising band and were proud to have them as our discovery, says Patrick.

The 10th Street Band is sponsored by Nine Planets Apparel and is composed of Jonah Gardoce on vocals, Ryan Toleza (drums), Marwin Manuel (bass), and Chico Corpus (lead guitar). Their first CD, featuring the carrier single Ulit, will be released very soon at all record bars nationwide.
