This is the revelation that shook Vhong Navarro: Toni Gonzaga told Buzzstation that she was just waiting for Vhong to court her back then. Si Vhong kasi hindi marunong manligaw. Hindi naman pupuwede na ako yong gagawa ng move. Lahat naman siguro ng girls ay talagang mai-in-love sa kanya, Toni said during the My Only U press conference. Moreover, Vhong admitted he had a crush on Toni when Wazzup Wazzup was narrowcasting. But according to him the reason he didnt make any move at the time was because Toni was still a bagets, and also it was hard for [him] to make porma since Tonis parents were always around. Now they have a team-up in the romantic movie, My Only U, directed by the blockbuster film director Cathy-Garcia Molina, will Vhong have the guts now to open his heart to Toni? Is there a possibility shell accept? How about in the movie?

My Only U is a romantic comedy in which Vhong plays Bong, a tenement landlord, and Toni plays Winona, Bongs best friend whose family is under a strange curse: family members die before they reach the age of 25. Bong is secretly in love with Winona but hes shy to tell her. Knowing that her days are numbered, Winona has no time for love and instead preoccupies herself with taking care of her blind father. After Winonas 25th birthday, she and Bong decide to enjoy life by going through a series of adventures and misadventures. And then, the inevitable happen: Winona falls in love with Bong.

Rhian Ramos takes on a mans role

From doing cutesy roles like the naïve leading lady of Captain Barbell, Rhian has finally been given a challenging lead role. Because she is a woman now, Rhian plays the role of a man-turned-woman in LaLola. When Buzzstation asked her, during her launching as B Club endorser at the Ayala Museum Cafe in Greenbelt 4, if she imitated a particular actor or man, she answered that she mimicked Wendell Ramos since he is Lalo, the man Lola is before he is cursed. She did this so that people will not see Lola as a girl playing a tomboy but as a real man. Mature roles demand versatilility. In her recent debut party, she changed shoes at least 10 times. Good thing Rhian has B Club by her side. Even when she was just starting she said she already used B Club because they are very durable and sophisticated, yet affordable. She bragged: All of my shoes were from B Club, so even on formal events bagay na bagay.

Viva returnees

It is known as the home of certified A-listers like Sarah Geronimo and Anne Curtis. But some of the fastest-rising and most promising talents in showbiz are coming back to the Viva Artists Agency (VAA) family.

Actor, athlete and artist Jao Mapa is one of those making a comeback. He made several movies (his first one was Pare Ko), but he eventually chose to pursue other activities and semi-retire from showbiz. But acting is his passion so Jao signed up with VAA in preparation for his showbiz comeback. Jao is slated to start an indie film titled Medalya in which he plays Capt. Efren Medrano, and will also be part of Vivas Baler. The former teen idol has maintained his youthful looks, but says that this time around hed like to play more mature and challenging roles. VAA has commited to be part of Jaos journey.

LJ Moreno is making an acting comeback via Joey Reyess movie Singles, which stars her best friend Ruffa Mae Quito. Now a pre-school teacher, LJ plays the role of Rufa Maes super-conservative friend who is the first member of their barkada to get married.

Mau Marcelo, the first Philippine Idol winner, returns to her original home. Mau is an alumna of Star For a Night and was the co-finalist of Sarah Geronimo. She went by the name of Maureen Marcelo then. American Idol season five winner Taylor Hicks, who performed with Mau during Asian Idol in 2007, described her voice as big and booming. VAA, which has been part of Maus odyssey from an unknown singer to a world-famous artist, is prepared to put all its resources behind Mau now that shes come home to Viva. Watch out for the exciting new projects that Mau will be doing as part of the VAA family.

VAA head Veronique del Rosario says that the company is excited over Jaos comeback, Maus return to Viva and LJs reappearance to showbiz. We are honored to be able to welcome them into the VAA family, she says.

Jennylyn makes comeback in One Night Only

I needed the break. I wanted to come back and do something like this first bago ako sumabak sa mga mas seryosong roles, admits the come-backing Jennylyn Mercado who intended to do something light for a showbiz return after giving birth to her son with former boyfriend Patrick Garcia.

She is one of the five colorful and sexy young women crossing paths in one interesting night. The lives of the characters portrayed by Katrina Halili, Valerie Concepcion, Alessandra de Rossi and Diana Zubiri meet in a world of humor and irony in OctoArts Films One Night Only, a Metro Manila Film Festival offering this Christmas season.

One Night Only is a comedy of errors involving the wacky shenanigans of several characters who end up in the same seedy motel called Lovers Hideaway on the same night. Written and directed by Jose Javier Reyes, this five-in-one romantic comedy also stars Ricky Davao, Paolo Contis, Jon Avila, Joross Gamboa, Ogie Diaz, Chokoleit and Manilyn Reynes. Kamikaze almost left bare after Qatar concert

Kamikaze and The Dawn held a concert at the Qatar Sports Club last Oct. 11, organized and sponsored by ABS-CBN Global and TFC World Tours at QR60 per ticket. Members arrived Oct. 10. My sister Rose Mendoza, who is based in Qatar, the department head of Carrefour Hypermarket made it a point to watch because Led Zeppelin Tuyay, the Kamikaze guitarist, is the son of ace photographer Edwin Tuyay, a cousin and the godson of her husband Romeo. Led used to sleep in their house a decade ago. Compared with last year when the group also did a show there, the gig turned out to be more comfortable for viewers because of better location and more hospitable time of the year (October instead of February when it was still winter). It also was more organized from the sound and lighting system to the cameramen covering the event. Kamikaze started at 8:30 p.m., followed by The Dawn.

For sure, Kamikaze had more impact on the audience because of their entertaining performance style, especially the display of sense of humor and rapport with the audience. Members were mobbed after the showcase, fans frisking members for souvenirs that almost left them bare. Led, by then eating shawarma in the dressing room, had the initiative to bring my sister and her companion Ana when they went home. The bands left for Manila on Oct. 12.
