| Uma Khouny, natulala kay Sharon Cuneta!![]() Author: Billy Balbastro Tonight at 8:45, Sharon Cuneta will be back on television, on ABS-CBN, after an absence of two years. But her Sharon tonight and every Sunday thereafter wont just be like her The Sharon Cuneta Show and her other shows in the past. Before accepting the ABS-CBN offer, she made clear that she wants a show not just for the fact of having a show and earning regularly from that. She wants her Sharon now "to reflect her goals and dreams for the show." She wants to give viewers "a good start for their week. Makakatulong sana ito ng konti sa mga televiewers, hindi lang to entertain them but to inspire them to do doable things na nagsasabing kaya natin to." Sharon doesnt hide that she is a fan of Oprah Winfrey and her Oprah show. And when she was asked if she can give away cars, she laughed and said: "Darating tayo diyan if we can get more people to be interested to help. Our giveaways depend on our sponsors." She went on to confess but underwraps about her foundation which has been helping the poor, giving medical assistance and scholarships. And her shows slogan: "May kasama kayo. May kaibigan kayo. At may kasangga." And Sharon insists: "I want the show to be unpredictable. May musical number ba each time? Puwede wala. Pero for the pilot episode, I sing the theme song. At may guests akong mga stars at politicians. Celebrities. Next time we will feature ukay-ukay and similar things. Kaya unpredictable nga." According to the Megastar, she will be assisted in the show by her "angels" -- Uma Khouny and Jaymee Joaquin, her roving reporters. Both confide they auditioned for the job. Uma is a Pinoy Big Brother housemate who says he was "speechless and awed" on his first day of work with Sharon. Jaymee Joaquin, a Developmental Studies graduate from La Salle who is in ABS-CBNs Bora, says she is more interested in a hosting job like what she is doing in Sharon. Jaymee is 21 and hails from Pasig. Na-discover siya nang pumasok siya sa Cinderella image model search at sa MYX ng ABS-CBN two years ago. Her real name is Jaymee Topacio. "Buwenas daw ang initials na J.J.," she tells us. *** As you will notice, Sharon is a Sunday evening show, starting at 8:45 p.m. Bakit kaya 8:45 p.m.? Sharon answers that herself: "By that time, nakauwi na sa bahay ang pamilyang nagsisimba kung Sunday afternoon at evening o mula sa family reunion o Sunday shopping o outing. Naka-dinner na sila at ready na for a restful, leisurely evening. And tonight is Sharons pilot so expect a welcome party for the show to invade your homes. What more can Sharon ask for her show from her co-workers and staffers? "I told everyone to be courteous to our guests, to be nice to them so that people we will invite to come to our show will look forward to guesting with us." *** PERSONAL: We welcome back friend Roger Bago who has been in the Middle East for quite a while. A former showbiz habitu too, Roger comes home when he can each year. This time hes home to be with his sick mother who was at the Montelibano Hospital in Bacolod. Now alls well and theyre home in San Carlos City (Negros Occidental). *** NOTES: Our friends at the Laguna State Polytechnic College -- formerly San Pablo City School of Arts and Trades -- call on all their BSIT graduates from 1978 to 2006 for a grand alumni homecoming.
