Cristine Reyes denied for the nth time that she nearly committed suicide. There’s no reason, she said.

However, she admitted that doing three shows simultaneously is stressful. She is cast with Jericho Rosales and Carmen Soo in "Kahit Isang Saglit Lang." She is in the first all-female gag show ever, "Banana Split," with Angelica Panganiban, Roxanne Guinoo and Valerie Gonzales. In featured roles are RR Enriquez, Princess Ryan and Dianne Medina. In "Eva Fonda," she plays the title role.

Cristine has chosen not to talk about her rumored split with Dennis Trillo.

Roxanne Guinoo appeared extremely tired when she arrived at the presscon of the gag show, "Banana Split." She came straight from her taping for "Ligaw na Bulaklak," where she plays the lead role.

"Ligaw," Roxanne announced, is ending soon.

She is now concentrating on "Banana Split," because for a change, she is given the chance to prove that she can do comedy.

"Ubod ng saya ang mga unang araw ng taping namin for the show," Roxanne related. "Kahit ‘di pa masyadong tight ang bonding namin, we enjoy each other’s company.

"I’m in good company. And I like the show. I thank my lucky stars I’m in ‘Banana Split’."

Like Cristine, Roxanne refuses to talk about her break-up with Jake Cuenca, who will be one of the heartthrobs to be featured in "Banana Split." Also in the lineup are Zanjoe Marudo, Diether Ocampo, John Lloyd Cruz and Sam Milby.

Edgar and Frasco Mortiz direct "Banana Split."

Direk Frasco, who was given the permission by his dad, Direk Edgar, to speak for the two of them, told the press that to balance the girls’ antics in "Banana Split," they got heartthrobs.

"We turn the tables around in this show, because now, it’s the girls turn to play pranks and toy with the male guests," Direk Frasco said.

"Banana Split," a take-off of the gag show, "Goin’ Bananas," is as hilarious and well, naughtier than its predecessor. "Goin’ Bananas" was on the air for more than 10 years and featured Direk Bobot and his friends, Christopher de Leon, the late Jay Ilagan and Al Tantay.

"Yes, my father and I have to admit that the actresses featured in ‘Banana Split’ are not comediennes. But they are actresses. Kayaany role that comes their way, they welcome it.

"Besides, before taping, my father and I make sure na well-written ang materials. Lalo na ang mga gags."

"Banana Split" will premiere on Saturday (Oct. 11) after "Maalaala Mo Kaya."

We doubt if the rumored split up between a much-talked about celebrity and her lover is true.

Someone reported that the fellow was confined recently in a hospital because of his kidney. Guess who was with him?

Well, the celebrity, who was extra attentive.

Also confined in that hospital is the stepfather of a much-admired and respected actress.

"Isa pang alagang-alagang pasyente ‘yan sa nabanggit na ospital," said our source. "Napakabait na anak sa kanyang stepdad ang aktres."

Could it be true that the current closeness between Valerie Concepcion, one of the girls in "Banana Split," and Richard Poon is serious?

Sources reveal that Valerie just loves the voice of Richard Poon.

And what attracts Richard to Valerie?

"Baka her body," our informant answered.

Valerie is the new endorser of Energo. Her other endorsement in Slenda.
