Wendy Valdez is happy to be busy with showbiz projects Author: Napoleon Quintos After playing Will Devaughn's wife in the afternoon teleserye Precious Hearts Romances presents Bud Brothers, Wendy Valdez is set to star in the series Pat is Tin where she will play the sister of Valerie Concepcion. At the story conference of Pat is Tin, Wendy told ABS-CBN.com that her showbiz projects are helping her a lot as the breadwinner in their family. "I'm very thankful kay God na nagkakasunod-sunod 'yung mga projects. I'm happy na may trabaho kasi I can support my family. So hindi ako masyadong mamomroblema ngayon kung saan ako kukuha ng pambayad ng bills at sa tuition ng kapatid ko." The 27-year-old beauty shot to fame when she became a finalist in Pinoy Big Brother Season 2 in 2007. Wendy had said then that the reason she entered showbiz was to help her mother care for her two younger siblings. After PBB, Wendy won the title role in the teleserye Margarita, after that she was cast as Cesar Montano's leading lady in Palos. She also landed a role in Your Song presents I'll Take Care of You. But Wendy is best remembered as the dull but enchanting secretary Patricia in the primetime teleserye I Love Betty La Fea. After doing one teleserye after another, Wendy told ABS-CBN.com that she would rather be busy than bored. "Hindi ako nahihirapan. Gusto ko nga mahirapan pa ako e, ha ha ha! Kasi ibig sabihin lang nun maraming trabaho. Ayokong isipin na nahihirapan ako kasi kapag ganun mas lalong hindi mo magagawa nang mabuti 'yung trabaho mo." Although she is already earning more than what she used to, Wendy clarified that she is not yet ready to settle down with boyfriend Bruce Quebral whom she met as a housemate in PBB. "Bago ang pag-settle down gusto ko muna ma-settle muna 'yung family ko. I want to buy them a nice house, other stuff that they need. Hindi nga ako masyadong maka-ipon ngayon because my younger sister is still studying. Ang dami pang-gastos." Bruce left showbiz behind to work as a flight attendant for an international airline. He and Wendy would seldom see each other given their busy schedule, but she said that always keep their communications open. Wendy added that Bruce is happy for how her career is doing right now. "He's happy for me. We're both happy for each other. Ang lagi naman naming ipinagpe-pray is sana maging masaya kami pareho sa kung ano man 'yung gagawin namin. It's very important for any person na magustuhan niya kung ano man 'yung trabaho niya. Everyone can have a job but not everyone can be happy with what they're doing." Known for her feisty attitude, Wendy shared that is not afraid to take on any role that will be offered to her. " Lagi na akong natatanong kung ano 'yung dream role ko pero wala akong maisip. Siguro maganda 'yung ganun para mas marami pang projects na ibibigay sa akin at marami pa akong masubukan na roles. Come what may, b asta may trabaho, ha ha ha!" When it comes to her dream leading man, Wendy wants to work with Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby. " Sa leading man gusto ko si Piolo Pascual.
