‘What happened in Vegas stays in Vegas’ – Karylle

Karylle, who is now free from any commitment witHBOyfriend of three years, Dingdong Dantes, happily says she is now at liberty to fall in love again.

She cautions though those single (repeat: single) gentlemen who want to try their luck with her to please wait for a while. It’s obvious that Karylle would want to savor first her newfound freedom, so to speak.

As it is, she is happy about what’s happening to her, especially her career.

Karylle signed a one-year contract with ABS-CBN last Tuesday. That same day, she faced the movie press in her first presscon as a Kapamilya.

And did she impress the movie press with her casual answers to all questions thrown at her.

Asked if it is true that her father (dentist Modesto Tatlonghari) never liked Dingdong for her, her answer was straightforward:

"Not true," she quickly replied. "What I know is that he liked Dingdong of all my boyfriends."

At 27, Karylle revealed she has had three boyfriends.

How about her mom, Zsa Zsa Padilla?

"She never made it a secret that she’s fond of him," she replied.

How then did Zsa Zsa feel about their break-up?

"I’d rather not speak for my mom," she replied. "But she knows everything about the break-up. I didn’t keep any secrets from her."

As Dingdong was in Las Vegas to watch the Dela Hoya-Pacquiao match, and Karylle was the Filipino singer assigned to sing the National Anthem, she was asked the inevitable question: "Did they see each other?"

When she nodded, she was asked what they talked about.

She answered, smiling and with a twinkle in her eyes: "What happened in Vegas stays in Vegas."

Karylle will be having a series of projects for ABS-CBN. Starting last Sunday, she is now a part of the ABS-CBN musical extravaganza "ASAP ’08." As Zsa Zsa is also a mainstay of the show, chances are that they will do a duet every week.

She will also join Jericho Rosales and Kristina Hermosa in the new ABS-CBN series, "Maruja."

Karylle also has a new album under EMI Records, which will be released early next year.

She is the newest endorser of Bench Body and her first sexy billboard was unveiled at Trinoma last Saturday.

Anne Curtis admitted that all throughout the filming of "Baler," her first movie with Jericho Rosales and the entry of Viva Films and Bida Productions in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival, she was hurting. After all, she admitted that she would be a hypocrite if she denies that she is still in pain because of her break-up with Sam Milby.

But the professional that Anne is, she did not allow her personal feelings to distract her from doing what was expected of her as part of the formidable cast of "Baler." Actually, focusing on her role as Feliza Reyes, the beautiful, young Filipina who falls in love with Celso Resurrecion (Jericho), helped her not to dwell on her heartbreak.

"It helped a lot, too, that I was surrounded by people who were aware of how I felt and yet, left me alone. But I could feel that they, particularly Echo (Jericho’s pet name) and Tito Ipe (Phillip), with whom I have the most scenes in the movie, made adjustments.

"Kaya if I delivered in this movie, it is because of them."

"Baler," which is being endorsed by both the Department of Education and the NCCA, was filmed at a cost of more than P60 million.
