TV5 becomes the newest force to contend with as it joins the league of free-TV channels in the country when it started broadcasting its powerhouse lineup of shows last Saturday, August 9.

TV5 provides Filipino audiences with fresh and exciting programs that will shake their TV viewing experience. The newest free TV channel caters to the underserved demographic of 30 and aptly termed as "progressive Pinoys." TV5 promises to be the new home on television, which shall shake TV in a way that no other TV channel does.

Ryan Agoncillo comes home to TV5, doing what he loves most. Ryan is happy to host a new talent show called "Talentadong Pinoy," airing Saturdays at 6 p.m. People behind the show say the contest is a testament to how varied Pinoy talents can really be. Over one million pesos will be given away for the whole season with the weekly winner receiving P50,000.

TV5’s all original reality programs also include "My MVP" (Sundays, 6 p.m.) and "Philippines’ Scariest Challenge" (Fridays, 6 p.m.). Its unexpected turns and twists will definitely excite every kind of viewer. "My MVP" features basketball aspirants who through a training camp undergo various challenges designed to test their stamina, agility, and athleticism. The show features Jason Webb, Bayani Agbayani, and Coach Normal Black. To be hosted by Jomari Yllana, "Philippines’ Scariest Challenge," on the other hand, will scare the living daylights off its guests as it brings them to haunted places and challenges them to eerie experiments.

People hungry for variety will not be kept wanting as TV5’s formidable line up of novelty programs is all-set to liven up your nights. These programs include "Mys Match" (Mondays, 10 p.m.) - a dating game show hosted by Iya Villania and Archie Alemania, and the comedy tandem "OgaGs" (Wednesdays, 10 p.m.) and "Lokomoko"(Fridays, 10 p.m.).

"Shall We Dance" (Sundays, 9 p.m.) is now bigger and better as handsome hunks Victor Basa and Jon Avila join Lucy Torres on the dance floor. It’s been reloaded with more than just ballroom dance. Adding to the genre are jazz, hiphop and contemporary. The first season will have Gab Valenciano, Mickey See, Jopay of Sexbomb, Cherie, Shirley Fuentes, Aldred Gatchalian among others battling it out to become the next dance superstar.

Primetime will never be the same again with TV5 offering a series of scripted dramas with horror starting off the week in "Midnight DJ" (Mondays, 7 p.m.), which features Paolo Contis, Desiree del Valle, and Jenny Miller. Tuesdays will be different as stories of young love in the TV adaptation of various best-selling Summit chick lit premieres on TV5. The first offer stars TJ Trinidad and Valerie Concepcion in the series titled "Have Baby, Will Date".

By mid-week the audience will be given a glimpse into the behind-the-scene intricacies of life in the glamorous world of a talent agency in "Hush Hush" (Wednesdays, 7 p.m.), while the not so glamorous life of an up-and-coming band is depicted in "Rakista" (Thursdays, 7 p.m.). To welcome the weekend, TV5 has Peque Gallaga and Lore Reyes revitalizing their ‘90s hit Batang X (Fridays, 7 p.m.).

Saturday afternoons at 5 p.m. will be filled with drama, intrigue and excitement as hot young Manila are seen in the teen series "Lipgloss."

To cap-off the already exhilarating line up, TV5 provides a first in Philippine free TV, "5Max Movies" which airs at 8 p.m. every weeknight! Appearing nightly with an impressive lineup of titles that are sure to be blockbuster hits starting with Unitel films’ critically-acclaimed movies – "Inang Yaya" starring Maricel Soriano, "Crying Ladies" with Sharon Cuneta and "La Visa Loca" with Robin Padilla. TV5 shall also show super blockbuster hits such as "Spiderman," "Terminator," "Bad Boys," "Maid in Manhattan," "13 going on 30" and that’s only one week worth of titles!

And of course, there’s something for the kids and teens too! Under the Teens and Toons belt will be the much-loved shows of Nickelodeon, now dubbed in Filipino, popular Anime titles, and a locally produced music show called "MP3" (Sundays, 5 p.m.).

With TV5’s exciting lineup of innovative and relevant programs, the Filipino viewing experience has never been as exciting and engaging. Indeed, with the launch of TV5, Philippine television will never be the same again.
