| Why you should watch out for Eugene Domingo's funny launching movie![]() Author: Rachelle Siazon In the advance screening of Kimmy Dora: Kambal Sa Kiyeme last August 27 at Shangri La Cineplex, Eugene Domingo stated that she would rather be a Box Office Queen than a Comedy Queen for she's aware that the success of her film would pave the way for Spring Films to produce more movies in the future. As always she's very thankful to Piolo Pascual for giving her this huge break in her career not to mention a dashing onscreen partner to boot. This actually urged her to go all out with her hilarious pursuit of Dingdong Dantes in the movie. " Kapag nag-eedit siya ng pelikula ang laging sinasabi ni Direk Joyce (Bernal) sa akin, ' Ang kapal ng mukha mo Eugene!' Nung napanood ko parang ang kapal nga ng mukha ko. E wala nagkasubuan na so bahala na kayo, sana makapulot kayo ng magandang aral sa bathing suit ko at sa kissing scene namin ni Dingdong," she said with a laugh. Eugene's launching movie tells the story of Kimmy, the over-achiever and ruthless president of Go Dong Hei Company and her twin sister Dora, who's her complete opposite. Dora may be a dimwit but she possesses two things that Kimmy desperately wants to have for herself: the love of Johnshon and their dad's affection. But no matter what Kimmy does, she will always be the kontrabida in the eyes of her loved ones because of her headstrong personality. But as much as she hates Dora's guts, would Kimmy really go to extreme lengths just to make her sister's life a living hell? The premise of the movie would actually take you to the exciting adventures of Kimmy and Dora who constantly misinterpret each other's good intentions from beginning to end. With Eugene's renowned acting prowess, it's no surprise that she's able to pull off her dual character without losing a beat. But apart from the comedy actress's lewd advances towards Dingdong plus the comic relief provided by the support cast, Kimmy Dora only gains its momentum when the twin sisters were forced to switch roles because of a huge misunderstanding between Kimmy and one of her father's lawyers played by Baron Geisler. One couldn't help but wish that Direk Joyce didn't spend too much time establishing the personal differences between Kimmy and Dora because Eugene was at her best when the major twist in the plot had started. It was during this time that she showcased her gift for gab and comic timing. Viewers would surely love how she portrayed Dora when she was forced to act knowledgeable about their family business in front of her dad and Kimmy when she did some matrix stunts during a foot chase with the goons in the meadows. Add to the latter's hilarious first meeting with Barry (played by Zanjoe Marudo) and a feisty albularyo, Kimmy Dora is still a comedy film you shouldn't miss in theaters this September. Kimmy Dora premieres at Cinema 10 of SM Megamall tonight. Source: ABS-CBN Interactive |
