| | Wowowee takes New Jersey by stormAuthor: Napoleon Quintos Column: Entertainment The monumental presentation of "Wowowee" in New Jersey premiered on ABS-CBN Saturday afternoon, airing the episode where Willie Revillame and the whole gang of the top-rating variety program, plus special guests Roxanne Guinoo, Kristine Hermosa, and Angelica Panganiban visited Atlantic City, New Jersey last July 12 to treat all subscribers of The Filipino Channel to a show of fun, games, and prizes. The show's regular co-hosts Pokwang, Mariel Rodriguez, and Valerie Concepcion with ASF dancers Luningning, Milagring, and Mariposa entertained the audience comprised of Filipinos and foreigners. Pokwang shared to ABS-CBN.com the experience behind their recent successful show abroad. "Napaka-perfect! Ang daming tao na bonggang bongga," Pokwang happily described Wowowee's first visit in New Jersey. Wowowee was said to be the first Filipino presentation to have filled the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey with 12,000 people, and all tickets were sold out prior to the show date. The comedienne could not even believe that their show made it on the same stage where the likes of international pop icons Madonna, Elton John, Paul McCartney, and Barbra Streisand would usually perform. Dubbed as "Programa ng bawat Pilipino," Wowowee aims to make every Kapamilya wherever they are in the world feel closer to home. For those who could not afford to travel back to the Philippines to watch the show live, ABS-CBN and TFC has been bringing Wowowee to a series of road shows abroad. Pokwang said that after New Jersey, Papi Willie and the Wowowee family will visit Italy, Canada, and Dubai in the coming months. Pokwang is overwhelmed with gratitude for all the people who made their show in New Jersey a big success. "Sa mga TFC subscribers sa New Jersey, sa mga nag-abalang mag-drive ng two to three hours makapanood lang ng Wowowee, maraming maraming salamat po. God Bless you all. Hanggang sa muling pagtatanghal." Source: ABS-CBN News |
