Zanjoe supports Mariel going sexy

Zanjoe Marudo says his relationship with Mariel Rodriguez is getting stronger by the day simply because they don’t put any pressure on each other. “We’re both busy kaya hindi namin nire-require ang isa’t isa na kailangan magkita kami araw-araw,” he says. “But whenever I’m free, we have lunch after ‘Wowowee. ’ No, we haven’t talked about weddings or settling down. Alam din kasi ni Mariel na I’m helping my family kaya hindi pa ko ready mag-asawa. Ine-enjoy lang namin what we have now. ”

What can he say about Mariel’s sexy pictorial for Hot Pink Lingerie? Didn’t he object to her showing off her body?

“Walang problema sa’kin ‘yun, honest. Kung ako, underwear model din sa Bench, bakit ko naman siya babawalan. Siguro babawalan ko lang siya kung pangit ang katawan niya tapos gagawin niya. Siyempre, nakakahiya, di ba? E, may papakita naman siya, so okay lang. I’m proud of it nga kasi may karapatan naman siya. Bakit niya itatago? Also, sister niya ang may ari ng Hot Pink kaya dapat lang na suportahan niya ito. ”

What if Mariel becomes the object of fantasy of other guys? “Okay rin lang ‘yun. Kung ang girlfriend mo, pagpapantasyahan ng ibang mga lalaki, that means, she’s really something at ang suwerte ko, di ba?”

What if other guys would start courting her? “I guess hindi maiiwasan ‘yun kasi maganda nga ‘yung girlfriend ko. Kahit papano, proud ako na maraming nagkakagusto sa kanya. But right now, with us coming out in the open na kami na, palagay ko, bubusina muna sila sa akin bago sila magbalak ng dumiskarte sa kanya. ”

Zanjoe is one of the busiest Kapamilya actors. He just finished “Varga” with Mariel and is now also being seen in “Dyosa” with Anne Curtis. He’s also the lead star in the Cinema One Halloween presentation, “Altar,” a spooky flick about a haunted house and restless spirits directed by Rico Maria Ilarde that starts showing on Wednesday until November 4 at Robinson’s Indie Sine.

KIM BELIEVES GERALD ISN’T COURTING PAULEEN

IS it true Kim Chiu got jealous when it was reported that Gerald was wooing Pauleen Luna? “No,” she says with a shake of her head. “Bakit ako magseselos? Hindi naman kami on ni Gerald. But I asked him about it at sinabi niyang hindi naman daw totoo. Nagkita lang sila sa isang party. Kinuwento pa nga niya sa akin after he went to that party at nabanggit nga niyang maraming ibang artista. ”

She says it’s ironic that she’s making a horror movie like “Shake X” when she herself doesn’t watch horror movies. “Kasi madali akong matakot,” she laughs. “After watching a scary movie, ayokong mag-isa sa kuwarto. Ni hindi ako makapunta sa CR nang mag-isa. This is our first horror movie ni Gerald but we’ve done a horror show before on TV, yung ‘Maligno’. Ang kaibhan lang, in ‘Maligno,’ demons ang kalaban namin. This time, it’s a ghost, the bad spirit of an old nun played by Jean Garcia. We’re shooting this in three different schools na luma talaga ang ambiance for the spooky atmosphere. Nakakatakot talaga ang setting. I’m sure those who love horror films will enjoy this one when it opens on Christmas Day. ”

YNEZ BACK TO MON
YNEZ Veneracion is happy to play an important role in ABS-CBN’s “Pieta” as the loyal friend of Cherie Gil who knows all her secrets and is later murdered by John Regala. “Nagpapasalamat talaga ako sa ABS at kinuha nila ko kasi ‘yung last teleserye ko sa kabila, matagal na,” she says. “Iba yung may regular show kang ganito. Hindi ka nakakalimutan ng tao. Nakagawa rin ako ng dalawang indie films, ‘yung ‘Retaso’ at ‘Binyag’. ”

We asked her about her lovelife and she admits she has reconciled with boyfriend Mon Confiado and they now live in his house. This is why she is selling her own house in Pasig for P9 million. “Our plan ni Mon is to use the money in building apartments para maparentahan namin as our business,” she says.

It’s common knowledge that Mon had an affair with Juliana Palermo while they were off. How about her? Did she have another boyfriend? “Wala. Siya lang talaga. Noon na lang nalaman kong on na sila ni Juliana saka ako nakipag-boyfriend sa isang ‘afam’ (gay lingo for foreigner), a French guy na based sa California. Pero one month lang kami kasi eventually, nakipagbalikan na nga ako kay Mon. Umiyak ‘yung guy na ‘yun. But I told him wala akong magagawa kasi si Mon talaga ang mas mahal ko. Actually, may isa pang ‘afam’ na nanligaw sa’kin, Japanese naman. Niregaluhan ako ng SUV. Pero binalik ko kasi ang mahal-mahal ng gasolina nun, ano? Isa pa, pilitin ko man ang sarili ko, hindi ko siya magawang mahalin alang-alang lang sa SUV.

KAPAMILYA TEEN IMPREGNATED BY KAPUSO TALENT

Eda Nolan, a balikbayan from Australia who’s with ABS-CBN, was only19 when she gave birth to her love child last February. The dad is a Kapuso teen, Gian Carlos who’s a runner up in Star Struck 2. So how’s their baby? “Eight months old na po,” she says. “His full name is Gian Andrei Ho, kasi Ho talaga ang family name nina Gian. ”

She’s now making a comeback in the “Class Picture” episode of “Shake, Rattle & Roll X,” playing one of the haunted classmates of Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson. Eda was discovered when she joined the ABS acting workshops and was told to join Star Circle Quest. Star Magic’s Johnny Manahan got her and she was cast in the gag show, “Let’s Go. ” She was paired with Victor Basa in “Walang Kapalit” and was a regular in “That’s My Doc” when she got pregnant. Any regrets?

“Wala po. Mabait naman kasi si Gian and we both love our baby. Alam ko po mali ang ginawa namin kasi pareho kaming napakabata. Pero ngayon, nilalagay naman namin sa tama. ”

Any plans of getting married? “Yes, but later. We have to prepare for it. Sa ngayon, nag-iipon muna kami. Nagpapasalamat nga ako sa Regal at nakuha ako for this movie. I’m also back acting in ABS. Kasama ako sa ‘Pieta’ as the young Ynez Veneracion and I’m also in ‘Dragona’ playing the best friend of Shaina Magdayao. ”

How did she meet Gian? “Even before I joined showbiz, na-meet ko na siya when I watched StarStruck. He got my number at nagtext-text na kami. Dun nag-start. ”

But she’s not Gian’s first girlfriend. It’s Megan Young who was also a StarStruck graduate but is now with ABS. “Yes, naikuwento po niya ‘yun sa akin. Now, friends kami ni Megan. Nakita ko siya sa ASAP and I was the one na lumapit sa kanya. Wala naman po sa’kin kahit ex siya ni Gian. ”

NADINE NOT LEAVING GMA

Nadine Samonte says reports that she’s planning to move to another network is not true. “Happy naman ako sa GMA dahil sunud-sunod ang projects ko,” she says. “After ‘Kung Mahawi Man ang Ulap,’ they gave me ‘Maging Akin Ka Lamang,’ then I was in ‘Kim Sam Soon,’ and now, sinundan agad iyon nitong ‘Gagambino’. ”

Even with her lovelife, she is very much satisfied since she has an ideal boyfriend in young businessman, Emerson Chua who owns a well known lechon store. “Bale three years na kami at never kaming nagkaroon ng problems or away. Kasi cool lang siya lagi at pareho kaming hindi jealous type. Kahit kung minsan, sobrang busy ako sa trabaho at magdamagan ang taping ko, he understands the nature of my work. We just make up later by going out together at namamasyal kami with his family or with my family. Madalas nga, nagiging family outing ang lakad namin, which is good naman kasi we get to know each other better. ”

She’s happy to be reunited with Dennis Trillo, her leading man in “Kung Mahawi Man ang Ulap”, in “Gagambino”, where she plays his leading lady. “Ang maganda, I can play any kind of role dahil sa ‘Kim Sam Soon’, nagkontrabida ako kay Regine Velasquez, pero ngayon, balik lead role na naman ako. Sa akin kasi, okay lang kahit bida-kontrabida, basta challenging ang role at tuluy-tuloy ang trabaho ko. Workaholic na nga ako, e, dahil gusto ko talaga ‘yung sunud-sunod ang assignments ko, which is what’s happening to me right now. ”

JASON DENIES GAY COLOGNE MAKER LOVER

Jason Abalos won two best actor awards for his portrayal of an aimless contractual worker in “Endo (End of Contract)”, the Urian and the Young Critics Circle. Now, he’s back playing Efren, a supporting role in “Pieta” as one of the friends of lead actor Ryan Agoncillo.

“Okay lang naman ‘yun,” he says. “‘Pieta’ is an action-drama and I’m happy to be part of it. Malayo sa mga ibang nagawa ko na before. Also, I welcome working with Ryan and Ms. Cherie Gil na siyang leads dito. Bale magkababata kami rito ni Ryan at magkasama sa isang gang. It’s also an experience working with action director Toto Natividad dahil nate-train niya ako gumawa ng action scenes. After this, lead naman ang role ko sa ‘Eva Fonda’ as one of the leading men of Cristine Reyes. Dito sa ‘Pieta’ kasi, wala akong kapareha, so babawi na lang ako kay Cristine. ”

He seems to enjoy working with Cristine? “Oo naman. Sexy na, mabait at mahusay makisama. Pagnanasaan mo talaga. ”

How come he was linked to a gay businessman? “Tinatawanan ko lang ‘yun kasi may nakakitang we’re having dinner at sinulat na kami na raw. The truth is it’s a business meeting at kinukuha niya akong endorser ng product niya, a cologne. ‘Yun lang ‘yon. ”
