Kudos to the Men and Women behind Teleradyo!!!
We at ABS-CBN Bayan Foundation, Inc. recognizes the need to mainstream entrepreneurship and management education, especially in critical areas which have the highest potential for attaining tremendous socio-economic impact. These include social development, microfinance and academic institutions, social enterprises, development cooperatives, rural banks and micro and small enterprises. Many interested institutions may not afford to send their officers, managers and faculty to enroll in an MBA course, or any continuous management program course offering.
To address this, we had developed several Professional/Management certificate courses to provide the people behind these development sectors of society with good quality entrepreneurship and management education programs. This way, they could act towards fully attaining their institution's goals and direction.
The courses provide target institutions and managers of micro and small enterprises with the basics and depths of how different units of an organization function. It would portray the critical areas that need focused attention. The program would also lead them to make better solutions and decisions as they go through the twists and spins of their own organization's set up. The program would also serve as a preparation for any leadership and management problems that may face them in the future.
In this connection, we would like to seek your assistance through your various TV/radio programs to help us reach more like-minded institutions. We have the following Management/Professional Certificate Course offerings for June 2008: ? FINANCE FOR ALL June 25-26, 2008 ? COMMUNITY-BASED SOCIAL ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT June 27-28, 2008
The training programs will be conducted at the Bayan Academy, 2/F Cinderella Bldg. EDSA Quezon City from 8:30 to 5:00 PM. Registration fee is only Php2,000.00 per participant per day.
Should you wish to have a better understanding of the program, please do not hesitate to contact us through:
May you accept this invitation as you become our sacred pilgrim in our journey of democratizing entrepreneurship and education to help build the nation from below.

Subject: Globe Autoload
Meron daw pong system enhancement na ginagawa ang globe telecoms ngayon, but I think they do otherwise. Kasi po may nagpaload po samen kagabi ng 135pesos pero po un confirmation coming from their system was repeated THRICE and what's worse, bawat ulit ay nababawasan with the same amount ang load namin. Ang complain ko po, I am reporting this incident to their CSRs-Customer Service Representative and they are asking for verifications. First of all, when you call them, you will hear a pre-recorded message to be ready with the serial number and un number po mismo nung sim card. When you give the information, they will ask for more information that is not in your hands anymore. Like for example, yung company name nung sub-dealer daw and name nung sub-dealer. We already asked for those info from our sub-dealer pero hindi daw nag mamatch dun sa record nila. Ang question ko po, why should they ask for those things when what they should be asking for is yung information that is within our hands. So what they should be asking for are info like the owner, the address or even un birthday which was filled in dun po sa application sheet nila when our sim was purchased. Isn't the ICCID/serial number of the SIM is enough evidence that the SIM card is ours, aside from the ICCID/serial number na sinabi dun sa pre-recorded msg ng system nila? And besides, they already know that they are doing the "system enhancements", shouldn't they be taking responsibilities and make actions on the losses that they give to globe retailers? Hindi po ba dapat ang itanong nilang verification are info about the owner of the sim and not the sub-dealer's? Or better yet sana man lang po ay inform nila kaming mga retailers thru text that they are doing some system enhancement and be prepared for system errors.

i have reported a leak along san jose st. in sampaloc, manila thru 1619 hotline a few weeks ago but 'til now, nobody's doing the repair. it seems they don't care kahit maubos tubig sa kamaynilaan. in fact, wala ng pumapasok na tubig sa mga kabahayan na nakapalibot doon dahil sa leak. when we do follow-ups, sabi nila to wait for 15 days. WHAT? 15 DAYS? is this how you do service? to date, nobody's answering my call pag nagpa-follow up ako kasi siguro nakikita nila sa caller id kung sino tumatawag.
Calling the administration of Maynilad, please find time to monitor your technical people.

Is there any truth to the rumor that the passing grade at the last bar exams were lowered to pass the children/relatives of the members of the Supreme Court? We now have mediocre lawyers who cannot even pass the bar . Imagine, lowering the passing of some subjects to a grade of 50 and the overall grade to less than 75. Nakakaawa daw kasi strict ang correction. Eh, ang bayan , hindi ba kawawa. Discretion daw. BS.

Channel 2 in general is becoming the channel of doom and not anymore of truthful news and information. And i believe people are penalizing the network by patronizing the rival network. News are more like opinions and news anchors are like cheap intriguers. I was once a loyal kapamilya but now I always find myself patronizing other channels because watching them is less stressful. CHannel 2 is like highlighting and exaggerating everything bad about the country and the gov't. which I believe is irresponsible and exploitative (like anthony taberna). Media has a big influence to the public, i hope it would be used to promote hope and unity among the people especially in trying times. If people are bombarded with negative feeds, then people would eventually be negative. Does channel 2 wants a nation that puts much importance on everything negative than on what is positive?

Subject: Standardization of Vehicle License Plates
San Jose, San Fernando City, Pampanga 2000 Ika-2 ng Enero 2008
G. GERRY BAJA at G. ANTHONY TABERNA DZMM ABS-CBN Mother Ignacia Street, Quezon City
Gumagalang at nagpapasalamat,
FRANK O. MANGULABNAN
THE STANDARDIZATION OF THE VEHICLE LICENSE PLATES FRANK O. MANGULABNAN San Jose, San Fernando City, Pampanga 2 January 2008
It is announced by Undersecretary Reynaldo I. Berroya that the Land Transportation Office is planning to phase out all the existing vehicle license plates and replace them with new design. This means that all vehicle owners must surrender all issued plates and buy new ones at surely much higher amount. According to Mr. Berroya, the reason for this is that the LTO is running out of letters and numbers with the present three-letter-three-number alpha-numeric identification system because of the fast increasing number of vehicles being registered. But the plan is widely being protested because if implemented will surely be financially a big burden to motorists specially those in the lower strata in our society considering the cost of aluminum type plates which now runs to P1,600.00 a pair for the smallest type of four wheel vehicle. I would therefore suggest the following to lower the manufacturing cost and thus lower the registration fees and make the registration system more efficient and foolproof: 1. DECAL TYPE. The vehicle license plates should be made into decal type (like the Conduction Certificate sticker) to be pasted permanently on the front and rear sides of vehicles. The LTO personnel will be the one to paste the decals on vehicles for correct and proper pasting and to avoid misplacement. If a vehicle does not have flat surface on either or both its front and rear sides, the owner will provide for a flat surface preferably flat rectangular stainless steel plate permanently riveted/welded to the body of the vehicle.
2. NONINTERCHANGEABLE FRONT AND REAR DECALS. The background colors of the front and rear decals should be of contrasting colors on each type of vehicle. This means that the decal intended for the front cannot be pasted at the rear and vice versa.
For private vehicles, the letters and numbers are in green color and the background in white at the front; while at the rear, the letters and numbers are in white color and the background in green.
For public utility vehicles, the letters and numbers are in black color and the background in yellow at the front; while at the rear, the letters and numbers are in yellow and the background in black.
For government vehicles, the letters and numbers are in red color and the background in white; while at the rear, the letters and numbers are in white and the background in red.
For diplomatic vehicles, the numbers are in blue color and the background in white at the front; while at the rear, the numbers are in white and the background in blue.
Small letters “F” (for Front) and “R” (for Rear) should be printed at the center in-between the big letters and numbers to avoid misplacement.
The above system for private and public utility vehicles is the best system that was introduced and practiced during the Aquino administration but discontinued by the succeeding administrations for unexplained reason.
3. YEARLY REGISTRATION STICKER AND BAR CODE. A small rectangular blank space will be provided atop the small letters “F” and “R” where the yearly registration stickers with bar codes will be pasted. Bar code is a security feature where all information pertinent to a particular vehicle can be accessed through electronic reader only. No other place within the decal shall be pasted with this sticker. The old sticker shall always be removed and in its place the new sticker shall be pasted.
4. REGIONAL PLATES. A vehicle should be registered only in the region where the owner resides/votes. The first letter in the alpha-numeric plates indicates the region where the vehicle is registered, i.e., “A” for Region I, “B” for Region II, “C” for Region III, “N” for National Capital Region, and so forth. This will decongest LTO-NCR registration and will help traffic policemen in quickly identifying the owner and where a particular vehicle is registered.
5. INCREASING THE DIGIT TO FOUR. Increase to four-digit the numerals if the LTO really so determined that the three-digit-number system is not enough to register the fast increasing number of vehicles.
6. LESSENING THE WIDTH. In order to lessen the width/height of the license decals and thus lowering the manufacturing cost, the markings “PILIPINAS, PHILIPPINES 2000, PERLAS NG SILANGAN, and MATATAG NA REPUBLIKA” be eliminated. In exchange, small official seals of LTO printed in light colors should be printed all over the decal as “security seals.” In New Zealand which is adjudged in 2007 the least corrupt country in the world, their vehicle license plates are so plane and simple - they have no “borloloy” whatsoever.
7. SPECIAL AND VANITY DECALS. Special and Vanity plates should also be made into decal and could still be allowed provided that they are always pasted alongside with the regular front alpha-numeric decal. Strictly and vigorously implement the present regulation in apprehending, impounding and penalizing drivers found driving vehicle with special or vanity decal but without the regular alpha-numeric decal.
8. NO TO THREE-YEAR RENEWAL. The newly introduced three-year renewal of registration should be discontinued because every vehicle must be inspected yearly by the LTO to determine road worthiness. Physical inspection is the most important mandate of LTO besides registration and taxation. There should be no registration without physical inspection. Mechanical failure is one of the causes of most traffic accidents.
9. HIGH QUALITY MATERIAL. And of course the decals should be made of high quality and durable materials. The big letters and numbers should be made of luminous paints so that they can be quickly read at distant especially at night.
10. POLITICAL DESIGN. Since the vehicle license identification numbers are permanent and intended to be used during all the lifetime of vehicles, the design should not always be changed whenever a new administration takes over. The chaos that resulted in the minting of different sizes, shapes and designs of coins every time a new administration takes over should be a lesson in the manufacture of vehicle license decals. The present plates with the markings “MATATAG NA REPUBLIKA” with Rizal monument is the worst manufactured plates. Their paint easily fades and flakes. (They rightly manifests the present weak and unstable administration with is attended with numerous scandals.)
11. IMPROVISHED DECALS. Touched up and improvised decals as replacement for partially damaged one should not be allowed. Official replacement decals should be provided only by LTO. This proposed system if adopted will; one, make the manufacturing costs half-lower and thus cost less to motorists; two, cleanse the present vehicle lists in the offices of LTO-LTFRB-DOTC; three, prevent scrupulous persons from detaching the rear plates and attaching them at the front of unregistered vehicles (a fake “LOST PLATE” board is thereby attached at the rear) as it is widely practiced in the “colorum” business of public utility vehicles, and in stealing/detaching both plates and using them in robbery, hold-up, carnapping, and other criminal activities; and four, prevent corrupt policemen from detaching plates and gypping hapless motorists.#
