Launched in 1992, HBO is a 24-hour subscription movie channel. It offers viewers in Asia a choice of more than 120 commercial-free movies every month, of which at least 30 are new. About 10% of HBO programming is compiled of exclusive entertainment specials, namely HBO Original Movies and Series.

HBO's prime-time viewing includes HBO THE BIG ONE, a special television event that premieres a mega blockbuster movie once a month, on a Sunday, HBO Saturday Nights, which introduces a new box office hit each week, HBO Monday Action which showcases action hits and HBO Wednesday Superstars, which features top Hollywood stars in famous, award-winning performances. New seasons of HBO Original Series are anchored on Tuesdays and selected HBO Original Movies premiere every first Tuesday of the month.
